We are looking for SVP, Head of Climate and Nature to oversee, drive and represent Stora Enso’s climate and nature agenda, particularly the three strategic agendas (climate, biodiversity beyond forestry and circularity). This role reports to EVP, Sustainability, and can be located anywhere in Northern Europe.

As SVP, Head of Climate and Nature, your main responsibilities will include:
- Understand and prioritise focus on the global agenda and set direction on climate and nature, including circular economy, issues.
- Drive Stora Enso’s insights program (trendspotting)
- Point lead on Group 2030+ commitments and targets setting
- Oversight and performance assessment of appropriate business targets,e.g. Scope 3 ambition
- Support performance management across divisions
- Build and maintain close relationships/partnerships with key external actors to improve framework conditions on Stora Enso’s key sustainability agendas prior to topics come to the regulatory field
- Subject matter content delivery (through team and as individual contributor especially on climate and nature) and collation for external positioning for CEO and EVP Sustainability.
- Liason Delegate for WBCSD
- Support Stora Enso investor, treasury, public affairs, media and branding, reporting efforts
- Lead subject matter expert team

Who are we looking for?
In order to be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience of which at least 5 years are in an international level in the nexus of climate – biodiversity – circularity
- Ability to navigate and translate both political debate and science (e.g. IPCC, IPBES) – into Stora Enso reaction and action
- Foresight on what is coming next and the potential directions of change
- Good project and process management
- Well versed in international multi-stakeholder sustainability processes with special focus on societal/economic incentives and drivers for better outcomes
- Good business acumen, preferably worked in companies with international footprint
- Strong strategic and political thinking, strategies and stakeholder management
- Strong ability to lead others through breaking common ground and vision
- Strong inter-personal skills – persuasive
- Self-motivated and self-driven with high level of integrity
- Fluent in spoken and written English
