Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga | About the opportunity
Working as part of a small friendly team and closely with our Procurement Team Leader, you will lead the advice and support across all aspects of the procurement function.
In this role, you will gain good experience in influencing stakeholders to implement best practice Government procurement in order to obtain public value for money and good outcomes for our transport system which ultimately impacts the everyday lives of New Zealanders.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the advice and support of procurement functions as well as provide advice on all aspects of planning, sourcing, negotiations, strategy, tools and process implementation for procurement related goods and services
  • Running tenders from end to end, including drafting procurement plans, tender documents, running the evaluation and drafting contracts
  • Supporting internal stakeholders to obtain good commercial outcomes and utilise best practice procurement
  • Working on reporting both internal and external
  • Working collaboratively to support the organisation to improve our procurement practices and outcomes

Te wāhi ki a koe | What you'll bring

  • Previous procurement experience and an interest in continuing to grow your procurement knowledge and experience
  • Experience in writing procurement plans, tender documents, and conducting tender evaluations
  • Demonstrated organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Capability in Excel spreadsheets and reporting (internal and external)
  • Public sector experience is advantageous although not essential

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
The salary range for the role is $76,774 - $100,000. The salary offered will be based on skills and experience.
