This role will be a full-time and permanent position, based at our customer site, AstraZeneca, in Gothenburg. As a Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a defined set of laboratories.
You will be responsible for health and safety requirements and compliance, monitoring and maintenance of equipment and laboratory resources to ensure a safe and secure working environment. What we’re looking for
- Education: Scientific degree in Biology/Chemistry
- Experience: Experience with working in an in vitro laboratory environment, ideally with previous laboratory management or coordination responsibilities
- Collaboration Tool: Basic MS Office knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills in English, Swedish is a plus
- Knowledge of GxP requirements
- Experience in a strictly quality controlled environment is of great advantage
- Positive attitude, real people-person, with energy and drive
- Likes to coordinate multiple tasks, solution oriented and pro-active
- Able to make decisions, service-minded and likes change management
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Responsible for the Operational management by facilitating laboratory consumables inventories
- Be a ‘single point of contact’ for scientist and meet regularly with relevant internal and external stakeholders to review new opportunities and performance delivery.
- Report on delivery through relevant KPIs and drive operational efficiency, cost savings, process improvements
- Collaborate with Scientific Equipment Coordinators (SEC) as well as external suppliers to ensure equipment is running effectively. You may also perform troubleshooting and performance checks on defined instruments
- Perform staff inductions & training and handle external visitor management and customer meetings
- Work with the scientists to identify future requirements and new innovations in technology to further enhance scientific capability within the function.
- Support the leadership team with health and safety compliance and identification/delivery of improvements. You will also participate in EHS or service audits and leads the implementation of actions.
