Team Lead, Category Leadership – Kroger & Harris Teeter

Cincinnati, OH

The Category Team Leader (Kroger) position is responsible for leading a team of associates toward delivering confectionery growth for Mars Wrigley and Kroger, our largest customer within the grocery channel. The Team Lead will develop and coach a team of four associates, elevating the team’s ability to influence the customer in creating and executing growth plans that deliver mutual business results. This role will also act as a category thought leader internally, providing both the tactical and strategic direction needed to make quality decisions for the category.

What are we looking for?

  • 7+ years of Consumer Goods Sales and Category Management experience, preferably across multiple channels and national retailers

  • Experience leading a team

  • Highly proficient in MS (PowerPoint & Excel) & Relevant Data Tools (Nielsen/IRI Scan & Panel Data, JDA, Numerator, 84.51)

  • Strategic Agility

  • Advanced Interpersonal Skills and ability to build meaningful relationships

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Willingness to travel (up to 20% of time)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead the team responsible for engaging with Kroger on Confectionery category growth decisions related to assortment, merchandising, pricing and shelving both in-store & online (Everyday Candy Aisle, Seasonal Candy Aisle, Transaction Zone).

  • Lead and coach team in the development of actionable category growth plans that drive mutual business results for Mars Wrigley & Kroger.

  • Collaborate closely with Mars Wrigley sales and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and alignment on category and customer growth plans.

  • Be a category thought-leader, staying on top of the latest shopper insights and category trends; clearly articulating growth strategies and providing guidance to internal and customer stakeholders toward quality category decisions
