In this role you will be technical responsible for maintaining Wind Converter designs as a member of Product Engineering and Quality department. As the Technical Lead, you will play a critical role keeping the product maintained as well as overseeing manufacturing, and field quality of power modules used in wind converters, ensuring their exceptional performance, reliability, and adherence to standards. You will have the opportunity to develop into a true expert in Wind Converters and expand or improve your expertise especially in the field of quality and reliability engineering. You will work in close cooperation with our R&D, product management, production, and external suppliers. Your responsibilities
- Leading and managing the technical aspects of power electronic modules after initial production release (Quality, 2nd sources, product changes)
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, production, and project management, to Drive continuous improvements to enhance the performance, reliability, and manufacturing processes
- Specifying and overseeing testing and validation of components, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Collaborating with the product support team and production quality team to analyze and address field performance issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Developing and maintaining engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, test plans, and reports, for power module manufacturing and quality control
- Providing technical expertise and guidance in power module design, selection of components, manufacturing processes, and quality control for R&D projects
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field (Master's degree is preferred) and several years of relevant work experience (R&D, engineering...)
- Knowledge of power electronics design, product manufacturing processes, component selection, and quality assurance methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Understanding of quality methodology and tools such as Lean Six Sigma, certification a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Hands on approach and capability to take initiative in delivering results
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English, Finnish or Estonian seen as an advantage
