Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position of O&M Package Manager in Business Unit Onshore Wind, within the Day1Readiness team, part of Operations.
Operations is the department responsible to optimise the operation and management of assets. The Day 1 Readiness team (O&M Package Managers) is responsible for the project’s Operations strategy and OPEX, procurement of service agreements and preparations for asset and operations management.
What does this mean and what will you do?
Development phase
The work of an O&M Package Manager begins during the development phase of a wind farm. The O&M Package Manager supports the project team by determining the O&M strategy for new sites, specifying O&M requirements and supplying the OPEX and availability assumptions to help build strong business cases, including potential future cost reduction measures.
Procurement phase
Then the procurement phase starts. The O&M Package Manager supports the procurement manager with O&M knowledge, towards successful negotiated main construction contracts, such as the wind turbine service and maintenance agreement and the wind turbine supply agreement. Also you track deviations in other contracts, assess the impact to Operations and take appropriate actions.
Construction phase
After procurement, the construction phase of the projects starts. The O&M Package Manager provides advice and support to the project manager and package managers in relation to Operations’ requirements. The O&M Package Manager is responsible for facilitating the handover process by the integrating information from the project packages and bring in resources from the Operations to be able to start with on time operations of the site.
An example of an average work week in this role:
We are aiming to place an O&M Package Manager on projects that are in the development, procurement and construction phase. Part of the week you are working from the office to meet with Operations’ Asset Management and Country Operations to discuss the Operations strategy for the wind farm. You are calculating the budget needed associated with this strategy. Another part of the week you could be on a business trip to meet with suppliers and negotiate the service agreement for the wind farm. You will also find yourself working quite often from home or the construction site, talking to project team members to ensure that information is gathered and progress in underway in order to facilitate a smooth and timely handover of the wind farm; Being Ready for operation on Day 1.

Who are you?
We are looking for honest and open individuals with a positive mindset who can work in a team and build strong relationships.
Furthermore, we hope to find someone who is proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and learning for our organisation. Since we work across several countries, good command of the English language (both verbally and written) is important and so is excellent communication skills and ability to lead and influence others. As your focus will be on Swedish projects, also good command of the Swedish language (both verbally and written) is required.
The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of engineering, operations and maintenance and large/complex construction projects. Having experience with wind farm projects would be advantageous.
