We’re currently looking for a Part Time Elderly Caregiver in West Hollywood, 90069
A lovely family in West Hollywood, 90069 is seeking a part time caregiver for their outgoing, sweet, and jokester 83 year old father to start as soon as possible. Care is needed Saturdays & Sundays 10am-8pm. The client has Dementia and Parkinson’s and has a short focus, so the family is looking for someone who has experience with this. He has a pacemaker, follows a diabetic meal plan, has a St. Judes pacemaker, and relies primarily on a walker and gait belt. The client’s doctor recommended that he walk once per day with assistance. The client is pretty receptive to care with basic things, however, hygiene may take extra coaxing and redirection. The client’s legs have been causing him pain recently, so someone who can be gentle with him is a must. A great candidate will have empathy, compassion, be strong enough to lift the client, and have tough skin for the client’s jokes. Those eligible in the household are fully vaccinated + boosted against COVID-19.

- Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 10am-8pm
- Compensation: $18 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hygiene assistance; toileting, sponge baths,
- Keeping apartment clean & fresh
- Assistance with walking, getting in/out of bed, and using gait belt
- Engaging with the client; i.e. outside time, walks, UNO + other card games
- Cleaning + Sanitizing bed + linens for bed
- Meal prep/cooking for client; coffee + blueberries, chicken & veggies
- Redirection as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional adult and/or elderly care experience
- Must have experience with individuals who have Dementia or Parkinson’s
- Must be UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew prior to start
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to show proof
- Must be UTD on COVID-19 booster
Compensation: Position pays $18 per hour and the family is looking for 20 hours per week on an ongoing basis
