JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, the receptionist greets patients and registers them. The receptionists' primary duty is to act as a liaison between the physician and his patients. The receptionist will, at all times, respond to patients, visitors and fellow team members in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education Training: High school diploma or GED required. Medical Terminology preferred. Work Orientation Experience: One (1) year of previous experience in a customer service or in healthcare/physician practice as a medical staff assistant. Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) maintain appropriate, professional conduct and appearance at all times, follows office dress code consistently; b) complete work in an established time frame, seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed or pace is slow; c) demonstrate willingness to perform other duties to assist the team effort for the benefit of the patients, physicians and fellow team members; d) consistently arrive at work on time and completes all tasks or arranges for coverage before leaving for the day or lunch; e) maintain desk and business areas in a professional, neat manner.
Education & Training: High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or other certifying bodies required. Prior experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of formal Medical Assistant education and certification.
Work Orientation & Experience: 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred. American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider required.
